AJMER: BEAAR police on Saturday arrested three people because they killed a woman and burned her body to hide her identity.
The burning body of a woman who is a resident of Rani City in Pali District, was found behind a hotel in Devpura Village in Beawar on July 14.
According to the police, the trio killed the woman because she allegedly extorted one of them and had one of them and had threatened to submit a rape case.
They have been identified as Vinod (28), Laxman (26) and Rajmahal alias Raju, all Charbhuja residents in Pali district.
On July 14, Sarpanch Village Devpura told the police that the burning body of a woman was found on the way to Danaji Dhani in Devpura.
The police reached the place and sent the body to post-mortem, arranged for the funeral and started an investigation.
A special team formed and all districts were asked to notify whether there were reports of a woman who was missing.
Then, the police learned that on July 14, one Narender Kumar from Rani City in Pali district had submitted a report of missing people from his mother Ghisi Bai aged around 45 years.
The police during the investigation found that Ghisi Bai had left home with a man named Rajmahal, aka Raju.
The police called Rajmahal to be interrogated and he tried to mislead the police, but then admitted that he and his two friends killed Ghisi Bai near Nadol Pali Village and then decided to burn the body so he could not be recognized.
Rajmahal said on July 9, Ghisi Bai went with him and they visited various places along with his friend Vinod.
Two days later, Ghisi Bai returned to Rani City.
A day later, Rajmahal got a call from Ghisi Bai demanding money and he threatened to file a rape case against him.
Padah with the threat, Rajmahal, Vinod and their friend Laxman named Ghisi Bai to give money and take him into their car before strangling him with a wire near Nadola Village in Pali.
Then, the defendant took the car to the Ajmer district and burned the body and fled.
