Jaipur: Rajasthan topped the country with the number of highest rape cases reported last year, according to the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) of a crime report in India-2020.
Even though Covid Curbs were fixed for several months, Rajasthan recorded 5,310 incidents of rape.
Uttar Pradesh was ranked second with 2,769 incidents of rape, while Madhya Pradesh was ranked third with a total of 2,339 cases.
With 409 rape cases, Jaipur only twice to Delhi with 967 cases in the list of 19 metropolitan cities with the highest rape cases.
Data also refers to that the state records the number of highest rape cases against small girls.
The country recorded 1,279 incidents of rape against girls under 18 years.
Andhra Pradesh stood second with 577 cases of rape towards small girls.
Speaking with TOI, DGP Additional (crime) Ravi Prakash Meharda said the state had a must-register policy and any pine that came to the police station.
“We also implement important policies that SPS can register from their office and if they know that certain sho has turned the complainant.
The action is also recommended against the police who erred,” he said.
The numbers also revealed that most of the rape victims (2,617) were between 18 and 30 years old, followed by 1,216 women between 30 and 45 years.
NCRB data also found annoying revelations so that in 5,046 cases, violators were known to be victims including 721 cases where family members were involved.
A total of 2,794 cases of rape including the perpetrators who are family friends, neighbors, employers or other known people.
Only a small number of 264 cases have unknown perpetrators.
In addition to part 376 (rape) IPC, the state also reached a bleak milestone from the incident of the highest rape efforts with 965 cases.
While the total number of crimes against women fell compared to last year, the state still recorded 34535 cases of crime against women in the highest 2020 in the country.
