Rajasthan women panel without heads for 3 years

Jaipur: Even though Rajasthan has got a bad name because of the increasing crime against women and children, important legal entities such as the State Women’s Commission remained without more than three years.
Women’s activists and organizations have demanded an appointment for the past three years, but the Government Gehlot has so far failed to find a chairman and member.
Times ViewDespite High Court orders, state governments ignore legal entities.
Of the 10 legal commissions, only three have the chairman even though the court in a command has asked the government to immediately appoint.
The government had also made such an appointment only after the court intervened.
These bodies are intended for good government and provide platforms for target groups to improve their complaints.
Instead of ignoring them, this legal body must be fertilized.
In the previous order, the High Court had taken Suo Motu’s awareness about this issue and said this legal entity was an integral part of good governance and needed to be charged on time.
The last commission chairman of the term Suman Sharma ended on October 19, 2018 and the body remained without a head since then.
Sharma, which was appointed as the chairman of the Commission during the last BJP government, alleged that “there were no better examples due to lack of sensitivity to the government of the problems of crime against women rather than the absence of a legal body to deal with women’s problems.” He said the cruel crime Against women are increasing in the country but government neglect is confusing.
“During the first term of CM Ashok Gehlot (1998-2003), the Women Commission came in the state.
He used to respect the legal body like that.
But a big delay in the appointment with such an important legal entity is quite confusing in his current term of office, “Said Prof.
Lad Kumari Jain, a former chairman of the commission.
Jain said the commission used to provide an important forum for women to express their complaints and district level hearings was used to be held.
“This mechanism that ensures that accountability is damaged like this is embarrassing for democracy.
Three years have passed and there is no promise.
When a political message like this, why will the bureaucrats will respect these organizations, said Kavita Srivastav, President Put Country.
