Rajkot: A five-month-old baby boy, who has been positively tested for Covid-19 a few days ago, died at the Rajkot civil hospital on Saturday morning.
The death of infants again awakened the dream of the worst children if the third wave of Coronavirus arrived.
An investigation has begun with how children are infected when there is no one in their infected family or environment.
The doctor at Civil Rajkot Hospital said that the child’s mother had tested positive four months ago and has fully recovered within a few days after being infected.
The doctor is not clear how babies are infected.
The child was in Dhoraji when he was first received at a private hospital there a week ago with fever and cough.
When the condition of the child deteriorated he shifted to a private hospital in Rajkot a few days ago.
Here the condition deteriorates when the oxygen level is dipped dramatically.
The child was wearing a ventilator and tested for Covid-19.
When the test results were positive, the child’s family member shifted him to the KT Child Hospital on Thursday, which was part of Rajkot’s civil hospital.
Radheshyam Trivedi, a medical supervisor of the Rajkot Civil Hospital, said that the Covid-19 virus had greatly infected the lung of children.
“The child was in the support of the ventilator when he shifted to our hospital.
His lungs were badly infected and we tried our best to save him,” Trivedi said.
The boy lasted for 32 hours after he was taken to a civil hospital.
The pediatrician who took care of the baby at first told him that the baby suffered from anemia and his hemoglobin level had dropped to 5.
The immunity of the child weakened due to his anemic condition, information about his children’s doctors.
Nearly 50% of his lungs were infected with Covid, he added.
At present, there are five patients who underwent covid treatment in civilian civilian rajkot with none of them became a pediatric patient.
According to Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) a total of 42,807 people have tested the positive Coronavirus since March 2020 in the city of Rajkot of which 458 surrendered to the virus.
