Rajkot wants to build sports equipment

Rajkot: More than 300 Electrical Equipment Products, Hand Tools and Power Tool Accessories will be displayed on the three-day show of ‘Make In India’ which will begin in the city on Wednesday.
Although Rajkot is the center of engineering tools, hundreds of items are imported.
This event is an effort to convince medium and small entrepreneurs to produce these products here.
The event was organized by Laghu Udhyog Bharti and Rajkot Engineering Association.
Hansraj Gajera, Chair of Laghu Udhyog Bharti said, “We will guide SMEs about government incentives for new startups and give them all the necessary assistance from the Industrial Association.” Entrepreneurs aim to take advantage of making gymnasiums and sports equipment in the city.
“The gym culture is growing rapidly in the urban housing community.
We import sports and sports equipment even though this can be easily produced in Rajkot,” added Gajera.
Obstacles in making several products, which are currently imported, will be discussed here.
Paresh Vasani, President of the Rajkot Engineering Association said, “There are many industrial units who want to diversify and show three days will benefit them.
All industry associations around Rajkot participate and we expect around 2,000 participants in these three days.” According to industrial experts , the machine industry and tool have an annual growth rate of around 8-10%
