New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday held a meeting with former Defense Minister AK Antony and Sharad Pawar.
The former Defense Minister was briefed by the Chief of Staff Defense Gen Bipin and Head of the Manoj Mukund Naravane Gene Army in the situation along the border with China, Ani’s news agency reported the source.
“Two former defense ministers have several clarification and doubts about the situation clarified by the CD and Head of the Army,” added the source.
India and China completed the release in the Pangong Tso area in February this year but there was little progress in the remaining friction points.
While China continues to blame the accumulation of alleged Indian forces for LAC’s plus-off, India says Beijing’s violations of the bilateral agreement are reasons for border disputes.
Earlier this week, the Minister of External Affairs Jaisankar met with Chinese partners Wang Yi Wang and said that any unilateral change in the status quo along the actual control line (LAC) “was not acceptable” for India and overall it could develop after a full recovery of peace and calm at East Ladakh.
