New Delhi: Rakesh Asthana, a senior IPS officer Gujarat, on Tuesday pointing at the Delhi Police Commissioner.
Previously, Asthana held the Director General post, the Security Force (BSF) border.
Asthana’s appointment to the post came just a few days before her gentlemen on July 31.
He will have a one-year term.

According to the command of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Asthana will join the Commissioner of the Delhi Police with direct effects.
This is one of the few examples when IPS officers outside the Agubut cadre has been appointed as Delhi police chief.
Usually, an officer belonging to the Arunachal Pradesh-Mizoram cadre and Union Territory (Agmut) was appointed to the post.
Asthana, the 1984 Batch IPS officer, has served as Special Director of the Investigation Bureau (CBI).
During his duty in the CBI, he was involved in an unpleasant saliva with the CBI director then Alok Verma.
