Agra: Four people, including couples from Gurugram, were killed and four others suffered sustainable injuries, when their car crashed into a stationary truck at Delhi-Agra National Highway-2 in Mathura below the Chhatta police limit on Sunday, police said.
The car headed to Amethi from Gurugram.
The accident occurred at 2:30 a.m.
According to those who were injured, their car collided with the first truck parked on the side of the road, but suddenly began to move and enter the road without a signal.
Police complaints have been submitted against truck drivers.
Circle Officer Varun Kumar said that FIR has been listed under Section 279 (rash driving), 304A (causing death due to negligence) and 338 (anyone who hurts painfully for anyone by taking action that is so rushed or negligent to endanger human life ) from IPC based on complaints submitted by the deceased relatives.
Kumar added an accident lasting around 2:30 a.m.
and the car was badly damaged.
The truck driver escaped.
Bodies have been sent for postmortem and legal formalities are underway, he said.
The deceased has been identified as Dharmendra, 35, who works as an operator in a powertrack firm, his wife Laxmi, and relatives – Mohini, 19 and Kusumlata, 26.
While those who were injured were Puja, and the son of Dharmendra Anirudh, 6, and Brother-in-law Aneesh, 29, and Mohit, 19.
They have been treated at a local hospital for treatment.
Speaking with Toi, brother-in-law of Dharmendra, Aneesh, who drove a poor vehicle said that they headed to Raebareli to attend a family event.
He lost his sister, brother-in-law, Kusumlata’s brother and a friend of sister and in a state of surprise.
“I don’t have many things to say right now.
I lost the person I loved,” he added.
