Ayodhya: Ram Lalla was appointed on the ‘Hindola’ of silver (swing) for the first time in Sawan ‘Panchami’ (5th day of the Hindu Calendar Monsoon) at Ramjanmabhoomi on Friday.
The swing carved from 21kg pure silver was contributed by worshipers against Ram Temple Trust, who received a large number of silver, gold and ornaments during crowdfunding encouragement.
Champat Rai Temple Secretary said, the gods would remain in the swing of silver until the ‘Purnima’ (Purnama’s night) August 22, when the Raksha Bandhan Festival was celebrated.
Every year, the Festival ‘Sawan Jhula’ starts at Ayodhya from ‘Sman Shukla Tritya’ and the gods placed on the swing also called ‘Hindola’ or ‘Jhula’, and taken to the Temple of Mani Parvat, where according to belief, Lord Ram’s wife will do it visit Holy mound during the rainy season and use swing.
After more than 500 years, Darbar Ram Lalla revived his splendor after being placed under a tent for almost 30 years, said the Chief of Imam from the Temple, Mahant Satayendra Das.
Earlier this week, trust opened a watch gallery for worshipers to see a glimpse of ongoing construction activities.
Anil Mishra’s trust member said the temple construction work was accelerated and they had filled 29 of 45 concrete layers compacted in the foundation.
