Pune: a car that quickly hit the autorickshaw on Monday night, injured three passengers, in Yojananagar on Jalan Lohegaon-Wagholi.
The driver of the Autorickshaw – Sachin Maruti Jadhav (42) from Yojananagar – filed a complaint with the airport police station on Tuesday morning.
An officer from the airport police said that three passengers, who suffered injuries including Jadhav Vaishnivi (13) daughter, her sister, Vandana Shalled (46), and her brother, Santosh (44).
The trio suffered a fracture in their thighs and hands, added the officer.
The autorickshaw driver was heading for Yojananagar from Lohegaon, when the car hit his vehicle at high speed, another officer said from the airport police.
Police said the car driver was a medical practitioner and run a small hospital in Jerawada.
“The police conducted a medical examination at the hospital.
The Prima Facie report states that the man drove a car in a drunk condition.
His blood sample will be sent for further analysis,” the officer said.
The officer added that the suspect’s car was confiscated.
“Medical practitioners, residents of Lohegaon, will be arrested in time.
Until now, the notice has been issued for him,” added police officers.
The airport police recorded a case against the driver of the car under section 279 (driving rash or driving in a public way), 337 (causing injured by actions that endanger the life or personal safety of others), 338 (sadness causing damage) for the number of fifty rupees) from Indian Criminal Code (IPC).
The airport police also raised the provisions of the action of motorized vehicles against the driver of the car.
