Ramalingam, Dean of PSG Hospital, Died

Coimbatore: Dean of the PSG Institute of Medical Research (IMR), Dr.
S Ramalingam, died after a big heart stop on Friday at around 10:30 a.m.
He is 61 years old.
He was known for instilling a culture of research in medical colleges and hospitals and presentations of his papers.
Academics, which specializes in pharmacology, have completed their MBBS at Coimbatore Medical College in 1985 and joined PSG IMSR as a tutor in the Department of Pharmacology, where he continued until 1989.
He then continued to pursue his Kasturba medical study at the Medical Kastba College in Manipal and Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Stanford University in 2001.
He also served PSG IMSR as Associate Professor in Pharmacology between 1991 and 2000.
He rejoined the Institute, became the principle and continued to innings until the last day.
He is also the founder of the pharmacometric community and health analysis.
He has published several papers nationally and internationally in the field of molecular genetics, proteomics and pharmacology.
