Ramesh Chennithala wrote to CM against the e-bus plan

Thiruvananthapuram: Former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has written to the Head of Pinarayany’s Minister Vijayan against the government’s move to work with the Swiss Hess Ag’s electric vehicle manufacturer.
In his letter, Chennithala said the government held a meeting with the PrizeWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) project consultant, which was blacklisted by the previous government, had left the project covered by mystery.
This project is being revived with corruption in mind and is being increased by passing all the rules and regulations.
This project has been conceived because it helps foreign companies out of the way and thus make monetary benefits, he accuses.
Chennithala demanded that the government release a copy of the minutes of the meeting chaired by the minister’s chairman regarding the project held this week.
In his letter, he also came with nine questions to CM.
Chennithala asked about the procedure followed by the government to choose Hess AG for e-bus manufacturing.
He demanded to know who chose PWC as a project consultant and based on what criteria, how the price of 3,000 buses to be produced has been decided, how it was decided that private players would accommodate 51% of the shares and government 49% in a joint venture and why there was no global offer invited to the project.
He also showed that the Hess AG representative who participated in a meeting chaired by the main secretary to prepare a detailed project report itself was the biggest example of irregularities.
The project for the creation and purchase of 3,000 electric buses was previously included in the backburner after corruption allegations by the opposition to the end of the previous LDF government office as part of reviving the project, it was decided to establish a venture company connection with Hess, KSRTC and KAL.
A meeting was held last week by the minister’s chairman to review the progress of the project.
Last year, when the project was debated for the first time, the government wants to move forward regardless of the state-level task force in emobility warn that there are actually no real models available anywhere in the world for study and adoption in e-bus segments.
