Ramwadi Underpass Waiting for Metro Pune’s Job Finish

Pune: Underpass Ramwadi’s work that connects Pune Airport, Vimannagar, Kalyaninagar and Koregaon Park causes the residents of the region to take a detour of almost two kilometers.
With the delay in completion of Metro Pune’s work, residents say that it must be traced quickly to avoid discomfort.
Metro Pune officials said that the pillar was being established and will end in February after that underpass will be reopened for vehicle traffic.
About seven months ago, underpass was closed because of the two metro pillars that appeared in the tunnel area.
Commuting coming from the airport or Vimannagar or even to Ahmednagar-Pune Highway must take a detour from the VadGaSheri signal and enter Kalyaninagar from Shastrinagar Junction.
Those who come from Koregaon Park or Kalyaninagar to Vimannagar must take the Harinagar route and cross the entire VadGaSheri to go to Vimannagar.
Simi Agarwal, a resident, said when the job began, they gave a six-month deadline.
“Now, about eight months and the work is still not finished.
Take a detour shortly but also requires a lot of time because of traffic,” he added.
Other residents of Vimannagar, Tushar Marathe, said, “My office is in the Koregaon Park and a route that is only about 15 minutes from where I now need 40 minutes in rush hour.
The work must be finished soon.” Sohal Shaikh, a resident of Vadgonsteri, said, “The problem with officials is that they do not provide the right work line.
They say six months and have not finished.
Underpass always has some problems and once in two to three years it is always closed for certain reasons or others.”
