New Delhi: More than 19 years after the murder of the former manager of Dera Sacha Sauda Ranjit Singh, a special CBI court in Panchkula, gave life imprisonment to the Head of Dera Gurmet uterine and four others.
The court has punished the Head of Dera and others on October 8, which was accused of another in this case, Avtar Singh, Krisan Lal, Jasbir Singh and Sabdil Singh.
One of the sain was accused, deeper, died during the trial in 2020.
The court slapped the fine of RS 31 Lakh at the Chairperson of Dera, Rs 1.50 Lakh in Sabdil, respectively Rs 1.25 lakh in Jasbir and Krishan, RS 75,000 on Avtar.
50 percent of the subtle amount will go to the victim’s family.
The Head of Dera, who is currently nested in Sunaria Rohtak’s prison since his belief in 2017 for raping his two students, emerged through video conferencing, the other four were present in court.
The former manager of Dera Ranjit Singh, who was also a follower of the sect, was shot dead in 2002.
He was killed because of his alleged role in the circulation of anonymous letters, which served how women were sexually exploited by the head of Dera.
According to the CBI charge sheet, the Head of Dera believes that Ranjit Singh is behind the circulation of anonymous letters and hatches the conspiracy to kill him.
More than two years ago, he was also awarded a lifelong imprisonment for the murder of a journalist, Ram Chander Chhatrapati.
