Accounting for 64 percent of all recorded Ransomware attacks, Ryuk, Cerber and Samsam are the top three ransomware families in the first half of this year, as recorded by Sonicwall Capture Labs, the report said.

“With long distance work still widespread, the business continues to be very exposed to risk, and criminals are very aware of uncertainty in all cyber landscapes,” Conner said.
“It is very important that the organization moves towards a modern cybersecurity approach that is unlimited to protect against known and unknown threats, especially when everyone is further, more mobile and less safe than before,” he added.
In line with nails in global data, the researchers also recorded a worrying ransomware nail across the main vertical, including the government (917 percent), education (615 percent), health care (594 percent) and retail (264 percent) organization.
