Jhansi / Kanpur Revision: A 22-year-old man who was arrested for raping a little girl, allegedly committed suicide in the locking of the police station in Hamirpur district on July 27.
The accusation was said to be in police custody about a week.
SP Hamirpur has suspended sub-inspectors and two constables and ordered an investigation into the incident.
The incident was reported from the Moahara police station from the Hamirpur district.
The defendant, Sanjay from Maha’ap District, was arrested for raping the minor.
According to the report, Sanjay used to visit a village under the Modaha police station where his sister married.
In the village, he was friends with a little girl with whom he had married on April 6.
“Complaints in this case were made by members of the girl family in Khanna Kotwali.
Acting on complaints, Kotwali police restored the girl and arrested Sanjay from Noida on July 23,” said the police source, “there is no action that can be taken because of the close of the court at 24 and July 25.
After this, the girl was produced in court on Tuesday (July 27) and the statement was recorded.
“Along with this, the police ordered Sanjay under the IPC kidnapping and rape, besides Act Pocso, and handed the girl to her family members and Placing the defendant in locking, police said.
“Around 1 night, Sanjay ended his life by hanging himself from a locked grille.
He used his clothes to hang himself.
Then, when the police were in charge of seeing Sanjay depending on, they took him down and rushed to the public health center in Malaysia, where The doctor referred him to the district hospital after preliminary treatment.
The police tried to snapped at the district hospital, but he died on his way, “the police added further.
To find out about the incident, a senior police officer included SP Hamirpur KK Dixit rushed to the police station.
He asked Kumar SP extra to investigate this problem.
SP then suspended the Devendra Kumar along with Constable Anuj Kumar and Anup Kumar for negligence on duty.
The body has been sent for postmortem.
About why the defendant was stored in the police locking for a long time, SP Hamirpur said: “I have ordered a detailed investigation of the incident.
Based on the results, further action will be taken.”
