Gurgaon: The Department of Public Works (PWD) can provide a December 3 deadline for the construction of Atul Kataria Chowk Miss infrastructure and may not only be due to the prohibition of air pollution induced in construction activities throughout the NCR.
The recent amendment in the project design suggested by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to enable the construction of Metro Piers for the Rapid Rail Transit (RRTS) system set to pass through the area, officials said, may add delays.
One busy intersection in the city that connects the area that sees high legs, two development projects take place in AUL Kataria Chowovs- 900 meters flyover between the Gurgaon Bus Stand and Kapashera and 700 meters among Sheetla Mandir and Maharana Pratap Chowk – To facilitate traffic congestion at the main intersection in the old Gurgaon.
While working on the RS 58.35-Crore project began in April 2019 with an early time limit of November 30, 2019, delayed due to repeated prohibitions on construction activities, covid-induced locking and the short lack of labor also due to the delay in the utility shift.
On Sunday, a senior official PWD told Toi: “The Piers for Delhi-Alwar RRTs will come in Atul Kataria Chowk and NCRTC, who built the RRT, has asked some additional enforcement for this which in turn requires changes in our design.
NCRTC has requested additional protection around the pier.
This will require a small amendment in the design and is likely to affect the deadline.
“Design amendments, official additions, have not received the final approval of higher authorities,” while waiting for the PWD which cannot start the job “.
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has submitted the task of carrying out construction in Atul Kataria Chowk to PWD.
According to PWD officials, if the construction ban is extended further, the work at the intersection will remain delayed.
“We strive to get a temporary approved design amendment to minimize the impact on the project,” the official said.
The RRTS corridor section that will pass through the area is below the phase 1 of the Delhi-Alwar corridor, which will connect Delhi with the urban complex of Shahjahanpur-neemrana-behror (SNB) through Gurgaon and Remari.
Although the project is waiting for the last nod from the central government, the NCRTC has started a “pre-construction activity” to anticipate approval, including the pier casting in Atul Kataria Chowk which began last year.
