Gorakhpur: Continuing with an increasing trend with alarming speed, two Rapti Rapti’s main rivers and Rohin rivers across danger signs on Friday and 243 villages have been influenced by floods in the district.
River Rapti flowed at 77.320 meters, which was 2.34 meters above the danger sign while River River was relatively stable and flowed at 83.870, 1.43 meters above the danger sign.
Flood water even disrupted the movement of vehicles at Gorakhpur -Varanasi Road on Friday as the road was blocked due to flood water.
DM Vijay Kiran Anand said that there was a situation of flooding in Gorakhpur District and currently 243 villages were affected.
All teasts in the district are affected and the kitchen of the community is being carried out in each tehsil led by each SDMS.
District judges direct the GM industry and additional commissioner trade tax to attract all employers to advance and help in the kitchen and distribution of public assistance packages.
DM said that the work of assistance and rescue was underway at the level of war footing in the villages affected and instructed relevant officials to appeal to the voluntary association to submit assistance in food distribution, milk, drinking water etc.
The heavy bathroom attacked the district on Friday morning.
The district witnessed more than 48mm rain in about 2 hours.
