Noida: In the first operation of its kind in the state, doctors at Yashoda Hospital in Kaushambi operate on a 58-year-old man from Zambia who suffered obstruction in the aorta, the main artery that brought blood from the liver to the rest of the body, which had caused swelling at his waist and legs.
Surgery is carried out through minimal invasive techniques, also referred to as an improvement of aneurysm endo-vascular (EVAR).
In this method, the surgeon inserts a catheter to the groin (upper thigh) and its utas to aneurysm.
Then, the stents were put into aneurysms and expanded in the aorta to form a stable channel for the bloodstream “Obstruction in the aorta is a life-threatening condition.
Expected timely surgical intervention is important to save life,” he said.
The doctor added that such operations are usually done through open incisions, with longer recovery times associated with it.
“This is for the first time in the state, especially in Western Regency, that repairs to aneurysm aorta have been carried out successfully by using minimal invasive techniques,” said Dr.
