Rave party at Poovar Island Resort; 19 Detained

Written by news2in

ThiruvananThapuram: When news about the drug-fueled rave party in Kochi supported the headlines, a similar event held at one of the island resorts in Poovar backwaters in the state capital was captured by official enforcement squad officials on Sunday.
A total of 19 people, including two women, were held together with various types of synthetic drugs, marijuana and hashish oil in possession.
Officials also arrested three of them, which they identified as the organizer of the event.
Akshay Mohan from Aryanad, Peter Shane from Kannanthura and Ashir of Chanthavila are those who were arrested.
Substances confiscated from the venue include MDMA pills, MDMA powder, marijuana and hashish oil.
Liquor is also distributed at the event.
Excise officials said that the rave party was held at the Karikkattu Backwaters and Resort in Poovar.
The name of the event is the Fest Nirvana and Fashion Show.
The party started at 6:30 a.m.
on Saturday and continued until 1:30 a.m.
on Sunday.
Clothing shows are scheduled on Sunday night.
The excise squad reaches a resort of around 12 noon based on a reliable tip accepted and attacks.
“Even though the DJ party on Saturday was attended by more than 50 people, there were only 19 at the resort when we got there when others left the place after a party,” said Inspector TR Mukesh Kumar, which is part of the attack.
.
They suspect that the organizers choose the island resort as their place for security problems because there is no road access to the resort, which means there is no surprise attack.
The only way to the resort is on the boat via backwaters.
When officials reached, most party visitors were resting because they seemed to be drunk from the use of drugs.
Therefore, they cannot get the opportunity to remove drugs and marijuana.
Akshay Mohan is the main organizer of the event.
He is a DJ by the profession.
He also allegedly smuggled the narcotics substances distributed at a party from Bangalore.
Party tickets are issued with three rates – RS 1,000 for normal entries, RS 2,000 for entries plus liquor and rs 3,000 for entries plus liquor and drugs.
Akshay Mohan had previously been captured by the Cantonment police in 2017 because it had LSD stamps, a type of synthetic drug.
All those who are detained will be the target of drug tests.
If they are found to have consumed substances, they will also be ordered on relevant charges, said Mukesh Kumar.
The team that made the catch was led by the supervisor of a special enforcement force, Inspector T Anikumar.
Some other officers in the team are Circle Inspector G Krishnakumar and Excise Inspector R Rajesh and Madhusoodhanan Nair.
