UFA (Russia): The upcoming Indian wrestler ravinder lined up for the second international title to reach the 61kg final from the Junior World Championship while Gourav Baliyan (79kg) and Deepak (97kg) won a bronze medal on Tuesday.
Ravinder has won the Asian Cadet title in 2018 and also won silver at the U-23 2019 World Championship.
Baliyan’s 20-year-old won a bronze play-off in just 65 seconds, won his fight against Richard Shroeder Germany with a technical advantage.
He began with a four-point throw and before Germany could gather himself, Baliyan came with successive take-down steps to end his fight with Senik.
Deepak took a bronze of 97kg with a 3-2 victory over Milan Andras Korcsog from Hungary.
Ravinder controls the semifinals against Levik Mikayelyan Armenia after being left behind 0-2, losing both points on the drive out.
His tactical acuity was displayed when he continued to affect point movement one by one, especially with a double foot attack.
Three consecutive take-down pushed it to the instructions and he consolidated it with another one.
He completed the fight about the technical advantage with four-pointer, which he with him took out Armenians from the mat after getting his rival right foot.
Previously, in the pre-quarter-finals packed against Ivan Hramyka from Belarus, Ravinder’s agility prominently when he won 5-2.
Ivan has a good attacking style but better Indian stamina helps it very much.
In the quarter-finals against Alibeg Alibegov Brunei, Ravinder’s superior defense was displayed.
Alibeg held Ravinder’s right leg and then also initiated a double foot attack that looked dangerous but, on both occasions, Indians used his strength and brain to come out.
Among other Indians in action, Yash (74kg) was lost in the final pre-quarterly Vetal Shelkle (86kg), Pruthviraj Patil (92kg) and Aniruddh (125kg) lost their respective quarter-finals.
Going out of a medal fight was Shubham (57kg) and Rohit (65kg), who lost their respective reputation rounds.
