Gurgaon: In developments that tend to benefit thousands of residents living along Dwarka Expressway, the Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has invited institutions to strengthen and upgrade road work between Rampura Chowk and Pataudi.
This road also acts as a sector separator 81A / 82A, 81/82, 85/86, 89/90.
According to officials of development authorities, stretches have been in poor conditions for a while and need improvement due to overloading traffic in the area.
Therefore, the authority has decided on an upgrade work.
The agency to prepare for detailed project reports (DPR) was hired last year and now agents have been invited to implement the project, said sources in GMDA.
“This project is expected to cost Rs 56.98 lakh, and it must be completed within an 18-month period since it was allocated,” officially added.
However, the development came almost two years after the project was originally proposed.
This project was previously estimated to cost around RS 63 Crore but estimation has been revised.
The source said that the project corridor would have three main intersections and six small intersections.
It will have a flexible sidewalk according to the Indian road congress guidelines and the main route will be 14 meters wide with a 5.5 meter service road.
GMDA will also develop a cycle line along the road with a width of 2.5 meters and a 2 meter wide path on both sides of the stretch.
Authority has decided to make trails and cyclers track along all new roads and those who are repaired.
TII previously reported that the road between Rampura Chowk and Patudi was currently very damaged due to inadequate design parameters and increased traffic loads.
“In accordance with the topographic survey and calculate the volume of traffic on this road in addition to road inventory surveys, holes & undulations on high roads due to weak subgrades and sub-alkalities along the way along the road and the same improvement.
Even drain suffocated at several points along the road , “said the official told toi.
