Mangaluru: St Somashekar’s cooperation minister said the cooperative bank in Karnataka was directed at achieving their target by channeling loans in the tone of Rs 20,810 Crore, to 30.9 lakh farmers on March 25.
The minister spoke after inaugurating the Multipurpose Atmashakti head office of the cooperative community near Bairadi Kee on Sunday.
He said that the Cooperative Bank had distributed Rs 14,000 Crore among 20 lakh farmers in the state.
“There are 5,000 posts lying empty in the cooperative sector in the state, where 3,000 posts have been filled.
The recruitment process for the remaining posts will be taken soon.
There are 60 to 70 empty posts in the Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Producers ‘Producers’.
Similarly, there are also Vacancies at DCC banks and urban cooperative banks, “he said.
“There are 260 urban cooperative communities in the state,” he said.
