Hyderabad: The period of mandatory reading has been set at school to instill habits in students in Telangana.
During the library period, students will read books that are not necessarily related to their subjects.
Nagafurna Deo Govindarajulu, who inaugurated Read – ‘Read, Enjoy and Develop’ – Programs in the district in Zilla Parishad High School, said the program’s focus made students develop reading habits.
“Reading takes the back seat because other media are easily accessible.
It reads newspapers every day and books who get knowledge,” he said.
Students have been advised to read about the life stories of leaders and national heroes.
