Bengaluru: Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa provides enough indication on Thursday that the exit is near and said he would obey the BJP Central Leadership Decision about his political future.
The 78-year-old linglayat added that he offered to resign two months ago to make a way for others and confirmed that he would not mention the name of the successor even if asked to do so.
Breaking his silence for the first time in the midst of a high buzz he would submit on July 26, Yediyurappa said he was waiting for instructions from the high command on Sunday.
“I don’t have a message (about continuation like CM).
This is my duty to obey what they are (high command) say.
I will continue as CM as long as they want.
Either in power or not, I will continue to tour the country and strengthen party, “he said.
He said he would continue to work as usual.
On Friday, he wanted to check the work of development in Bengaluru.
“I will do my job until the end, let’s see what happens,” he said.
He also piled up praise at the Kuningan party.
“PM Modi, Amit Shah and JP Nadda have love and special faith in me.
At our party, those with more than 75 years are not given any posts.
However, appreciating my work, they gave me the opportunity to function as cm,” he said , Tone changes from “Nobody asked me to resign and I will continue as CM” to continue.
“I will obey the high command decision” seen here as an indication that the exit is near.
Asked whether a colleague had to replace him, he said, “I will not make such pressure.
Who should be made (what must be made by the next cm) is handed over to the central leadership.” In New Delhi, the Secretary General of the National BJP responsible for Karnataka , Arun Singh, who has said last month that Yediyurappa will continue in the office for the full term, duck down questions about leadership changes.
“I will discuss it some other time on a cup of tea,” he told reporters.
