Panaji: The State Union Minister for Tourism Shripad rose on Thursday to say while he would not risk the claim to return to the state’s politics, he would be ready to work in Goa if BJP gave him his responsibility.
“If the party thinks my service is needed in Delhi, I will accept it, and if according to my service it is needed in Goa, I will accept it too.
But I will never risk the claim,” he said.
“It is our culture to work in accordance with party instruction.
I have no personal claims (to take part in the next assembly selection), but I will obey the party’s decision,” said the rise.
TNN before, former Chief of Minister of Goa Laxmikant Parsekar had thrown his hat in the ring for the election of the assembly scheduled for early next year and emitted the confidence that BJP would not deny his pass.
Lone BJP Goa Rajya Sabha MP, Vinay Tendulkar, also said that he wanted to oppose the next assembly election and even offered to resign as a member of parliament to do so.
Both Tendulkar and Parsekar had filed their claims before the party to fight for the next assembly selection.
Recently, Port minister Michael Lobo said his wife Delilah, who is Sarpanch from Parra Panchayat, will risk claims for BJP tickets both from Saligao or Siolim.
With some lobby BJP Mlaas for party tickets for them to oppose the upcoming assembly polls, BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said, “BJP does not have a tradition to provide tickets to four or five people in the family.”
