New Delhi: Delhi University has chosen cu-cet (university center of the center entry test center) as an entrance examination mode for undergraduate acceptance for academic sessions 2022-23.
This was revealed to Toi by the representative of Chancellor Yogesh Singh on Saturday.
The Ministry of Education and the National Test Agency (NTA) is responsible for conducting the exam.
This ends speculation that the university can choose its own entrance examination.
Notification issued by the University on December 20, 2021, has said, “University of Delhi’s Executive Board at his meeting held on December 17, 2021 decided that acceptance for the academic session of 2022-2023 and so on in all undergraduate programs …
will be made through the incoming test General UNIVERSITY (CUCET) or Universitas University of Delhi (Ducet).
“” We are working on the project.
We will immediately form a committee to see the entire process and coordinate with the Ministry and NTA, “said Singh.
“Since the initial announcement, nothing happened at the front.
The university is, maybe, waiting for the direction or clarity from the Ministry.
With the Covid case up again, just want to know how the ministry will do it,” said a university official.
According to the normal schedule, the receipt for UG courses starts in April-May.
It was delayed in the last two sessions because Covid and the receipt process took place in September-October.
The university chooses the entrance examination to fight high cut-off and the number of students who are disproportionately than some boards.
The University has formed a committee to study reception patterns and found that students from Kerala dominated seats in popular colleges.
Twelve central universities – no from Delhi – are part of Cu-cet now.
The exam has so far been held for 64 undergraduate and integrated programs run by these universities.
There are several multiple choice (MCQ) questions for BSC and BA courses.
So far, there is no test for the trade held but b .com (h) and program b.com is a popular course at DU.
Question papers for BSC have two parts – section A is English, general knowledge and numerical ability with 25 signs allocated while part b is specific subject, such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology, with 25 other signs.
For BA / Diploma, basically the Humanities program, English, numerical skills / data interpretation, analytical skills, reasoning, general talents and general knowledge of 100 marks.
After the entrance exam, each university released a list of its own achievements and conducted counseling.
The teacher is divided into the decision to conduct an exam.
Critics feel they will promote a culture of coaching which will ultimately eliminate students who come from a poorer community.
