Chennai: Acceptance courses for MBBS / BDS for the 2021-22 academic year, scheduled to begin on January 30, will be held online, MA Health Minister Subramanian said on Wednesday, after releasing a list of achievements for postgraduate receipts.
Counseling for students Special Categories – Sports and Defense Quota are physically – and government school students, however, will be held offline between 27 and 29 January.
NEET-based counseling for all the others (vertical caste-based reservations) will be held offline.
“The decision was made so students and parents do not need to travel for reception during a pandemic,” he said.
The medical counseling committee at the Centrewill conducted the first round of online counseling between January 19 and January 28.
“They have told us not to wait until then.
In their schedule, they said the country could conduct the first counseling round between January 27 and January 31,” he said.
On January 23, the state will start counseling to enter 1,053 PG medical seats.
Almost simultaneously, on January 24, the state will release a list of achievements for receipt of MBBS.
After completing counseling for the special category on January 27, counseling for government school students, for whom TN has ordered a 7.5% seat, it will begin.
This year, with the addition of 11 new government medical colleges, the selection committee will conduct counseling to enter the seat 6999 MBBS.
It will also do counseling to enter the 1,930 BDS seats in government and self-financing, Committee Pasanthamani said.
