Record a vaccine roll-out with 20,000 doses in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: More than 20,000 people are vaccinated against Covid-19 in the district on Saturday, recording one of the highest days in Coimbatore, according to the Ministry of Health.
On Saturday, 32,400 doses were available, where more than 20,000 doses were given at 106 centers in the city and rural areas.
Although 31,200 doses and 23,400 doses were available on August 2 and August 3, the number of doses given was less than 20,000 at that time.
At an average of 12,000-16,000 doses are available for vaccination camps every day.
Deputy Director of Health Services (DDHS) Coimbatore P Aruna said that there was adequate supply of vaccination after we could plan camps both in the city and in rural areas.
Seroprevalence as low as 43% for Coimbatore Regency.
“We plan to do the same vaccination camp in the coming days too,” he said.
Meanwhile, 225 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported on Sunday in the district of 223 cases the day before.
A total of 204 patients were dismissed on Sunday, leaving 2,403 active cases.
One death was reported on Sunday, taking dead to 2,218 in the district.
This district has so far reported 2,32,803 positive cases, where 2,28,182 are repatriated.
In the Tirupur district, 84 new cases were reported on Sunday against 94 on Saturday.
A total of 88 people returned home after treatment and there were 913 active cases treated for infection.
Five deaths were reported in the district on Sunday, the highest in the last five days, took the dead to 890.
From 89,115 people infected with Covid-19 in the district, 87,312 was restored and dismissed from the hospital.
