Columbia: Audio record of an argument between a Missouri man and Chinese wife will be permitted during the trial of a man who will come in his death, a judge has ruled.
Brouck Jacobs Circuit Judge ruled Tuesday recording “relevant and unacceptable” in the case of Joseph Elledge, from Columbia, which was charged with first-rate murder in his wife’s death, jiqi ji.
Ji was reported missing in October 2019, encouraging a broad search that was concluded when his body was found in March this year in a park near Columbia.
Boone County’s lawyer lawyer argues that the recording is the main evidence that will show the elledge motives for murder, the context of crime and awareness about guilt, Columbia Missarawan reports.
Elledge defense lawyer believes the tapes are listeners and should not be accepted during the trial.
Ji quietly recorded two tapes and Elledge recorded 10 others, with a total of 13 hours of recording.
Elledge’s murder test is scheduled to start November.
