New Delhi: The Delhi Government will run a campaign ‘Red Light On, Gaadi in the capital from October 18 to November 18 to curb vehicle pollution.
Minister of Environment Gopal Rai, who held a meeting with Delhi police officers and the Department of Environment and Income, said that more than 2,500 civil defense volunteers would be deployed at 100 intersections for the campaign, which would run in two shifts from 8am to 8:00 p.m.
“From October 18, we will launch a ‘Red Light, Gaadi Campaign, which will actively be implemented at 100 intersections in 13 police districts in the city,” Rai said.
The Minister added that the 90 intersections would have 10 civil defense volunteers in charge, while the remaining 10 main intersections each would have 20 volunteers.
The main inspection in the city where implementation will take place on a larger scale Marg-Prithvi Road Crossing, Madhuban Chowk, Moti Bagh (Ring Road) and peeragarhi chowk.
