Red pcb-signal fireworks made by West Bengal

Kolkata: The Supreme Court order on Tuesday, which enables the sale and purchase of green firecrackers during the times of Puja-Diwali, Chhath and Jagaddhatri Puja, bringing help to the fireworks industry but the police and officials of the state pollution council are now faced with Herculean tasks to ensure only crackers Allowed to use.
The Supreme Court and the West Bengal Pollution Control Agency (WBPCB) explain that only fireworks that are certified by the National Environmental Research Engineering (Neel) will be considered green, and therefore, are permitted during the festival.
But members of the state fireworks association did not concede no crackers produced in Bengal certified by neeri.
However, they claim most of them follow the parameters set for non-pollution tags.
Burrabazar Fireworks Secretary Traders with Santanu Dutta said Sparklers, flower pots, Charchis, rockets, shellfish and several other fireworks varieties, produced after SC order, will be available on the market.
“The fireworks unit in Bengal has not been able to obtain a logo and green cracker code from neeri due to financial constraints.
But most producers have reduced barium contents, chemicals are considered the most polluting, almost 60% -70%,” he said.
Not only have no firecracker manufacturing units in Bengal making products approved by neeri, most of the factories here function without licenses because they have not been updated since last year.
Timesviewair pollution has been shown to have a direct impact on serious covid infection.
So the implementation of this season’s norm must remember two things: ensure the corresponding celebration of Covid and maintaining environmental pollution remains low.
Responsible behavior of citizens will be key.
WBPCB officials only showed 869 manufacturers in India which produced green crackers and were not in Bengal.
“All green fireworks are certified by the CSIR-NEEI or NABT-accredited laboratory and each package has a unique logo and QR code.
One can scan the code with a neeri application to ensure its authenticity.
So among the sellers, only a few will be able to sell A handful of original green fireworks, “said an official.
Green fireworks are made with smaller shell size to reduce the use of uniform raw materials, acceptable quality, and additives, as dust presses, to reduce emissions with specific references to particles (PM), said a WBPCB scientist.
It caused at least 30% reduction of PM and 10% gas emissions, he added.
Convener Sabuj Mancha Naba Dutta declared fear will pollute the fireworks that were revealed as green.
“The state must ensure the darkness is not used,” he said.
Shows they will work in close coordination with PCB, the police assured that all police were asked to download the Neer application so that they could scan fireworks.
“We have been told to look for the CSIR-Neer and Petroleum logos and explosive safety organizations and then check authenticity by scanning QR code.
Because Bengal does not have a green firecracker manufacturer, we will check the source to filter fake crackers,” said an officer.
Datta’s environmental subhas said the fireworks displayed lights had more dangerous chemicals than the noisy.
“We must be more aware of the environment,” he said.
