Kolkata: Fatal Troops Traffic Kolkata on Saturday night arrested the driver of the Metiabruz-Howrah bus involved in a July 1 red road accident that killed the police and injured 18 others.
The police said they could not trace Simy Syed Hossain’s Driving SIM in the last 24 hours.
The source claims that the license that bears its name shows that it has 10 serious motor vehicle action cases – most of them related to accelerating.
Also, there were 89 cases against the bus, police said.
Hossain (36), a Manjil Mehar resident in the park reached, was arrested from Sasthital in Kamarhati where he hid in his sister’s house for two days.
The police suspected that he had a plan to escape to Bihar.
He was produced in court on Sunday and returned in police custody until July 17.
He has been charged with guilty killings under the IPC part 304 (II).
“He claimed to escape the hospital where he was taken for treatment.
We verify his statement,” police said.
“We have proof that the bus runs at high speed.
One year and three-month-old buses and running in seven or eight months.
We need it to explain why he was speeding,” said an officer.
