Patna: Secondary Education Council (CBSE) has warned 253 of the 943 affiliated schools in Bihar opposing to provide increased signs to their class X students and direct them to repeat the moderation sign.
The Board has asked for school to attend tagging or assessment policies formulated by it.
Circular said the analysis posted an uploader by the school, it observed that some schools did not do the same and analyzed the sign in brackets over the reference range given – instead of distributing signs of theory in the range 70-80, the sign has been collected in the range 77- 80.
“It’s not fair for some appropriate candidates, whose performance will fall in this value range,” he said.
CBSE has sent a list of schools with higher grades exceeding historical performance.
These schools include St Michael High School, Delhi Public School, Notre Dame Academy, Loyola High School, St Karen High School, St Dominic Savio High School and various Public School Branches DAV.
Officials Most of these schools claim that the Board has objected to allocating higher marks to the top scorers and they must overhauled the signs of all students to avoid injustice against decent candidates.
Rajiv Ranjan Sinha, Coordinator of CBSE City and Principal of Baldwin Academy, said the name of his school was not on the list because they had followed a marking pattern.
He said according to the CBSE guidelines, candidates who had been awarded 96 and more signs must be reviewed and revised.
Glenda Galstaun, Middle School Principal Savio St Dominic, said the format was called ‘historical report of the last three years and, thus, signs were submitted.
“So, we have sent back the previous report just because there is no child to whom we have given extra value.
Only 2-3 students get 96 signs in several subjects.
If not, we have not made a lot of change,” he said.
Gyan Niketan School’s Vice-Principal Shailendra Mohan Jha said they received a letter from the board on Tuesday night and uploaded revision signs on Wednesday.
“According to our data updates, around 10-15% of students from 408 in class X get a sign above 95, including theory and practical.
We revised the sign and send it again,” he said.
Sharat Kumar Singh, Principal of Lintang Valley, said the pattern given by the Board has been attended by schools and moderation bodies.
“Most of the schools in Bihar have not taken internal assessments.
We have documentary evidence to show that the sign does not increase,” he said.
