New Delhi: News Minister Union Amit Shah said on Thursday said customs reduction in gasoline and diesel was a very sensitive decision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it would not only bring assistance to ordinary people but also reduced inflation.
The minister at home also said that the assistance provided was a very sensitive decision even after the price increase at the international level.
Taking to Twitter, Shah said: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has provided great assistance to the general public about Diwali by reducing customs for gasoline and diesel of RS 5 and RS respectively.” The Interior Minister said “Diwali prize” by the Prime Minister to the country will not only bring assistance to ordinary humans but also reduce inflation.
The center on Wednesday slashes Customs on gasoline amounting to Rs 5 per liter and on diesel by Rs 10 per liter to provide suspension to consumers destroyed with high retail fuel prices.
The price of gasoline in the national capital has passed the RS 110 sign on Tuesday while diesel prices reached Rs 98.4 per liter.
With customs cuts, gasoline will cost Rs 103.97 per liter while Diesel will cost Rs 86.67 per liter.
While gasoline prices rose 46.4 percent and diesel around 45 percent since January 2020, crude oil prices rose only 20 percent.
