Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government urges the Ministry of Health and the welfare of the Union family to reduce the monthly vaccine quota for the State Private Hospital quoting a lack of interest and poor coverage.
In accordance with the Covid national immunization program, 25% of the monthly quota of a country’s vaccine will be set aside for private hospitals for direct purchases.
The state has requested that the quota be reduced to 5%.
On Tuesday night, the State Health Secretary of Arun Kumar Singh wrote to Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan and said only three private hospitals in this country had ordered the procurement of vaccines and struggled to utilize their inventory.
“Because Covid-19 vaccination was introduced at a private hospital on January 30, the share of vaccinations at the Jharkhand private hospital until April 30 had been 2%,” Singh wrote.
On June 16, the Jharkhand Chapter of the Indian Healthcare Provider Association (AHPI) shows that they are willing to take a paid vaccination program if the Jharkhand government regulates the procurement of a hassle-free dose.
Jharkhand Government has been allocated 24.85 lakh doses for immunization through the state-run vaccination site for July while the 8.28 pool dose has been set aside for private hospitals.
Singh also demanded that the vaccine quota be increased to 95% of the existing 75% ceiling.
“Nearly 75% of Jharkhand populations live in rural areas, which have the reach of a private hospital that can be ignored.
Even in cities where private hospitals are available, the payment vaccine demand is very low due to the purchase of power parity,” Singh wrote in his letter.
Singh also supports the demand of the state to raise its monthly quota by showing that 37% of the country’s population lives below the poverty line.
The state requires more vaccines to improve vaccine drives in 24 of their districts, where 19 left wing extremism (LWE) and 13 have a dominant tribal population, Singh said.
