Vadodara: He has invested Hospital 7,000 obtained with difficulty as two permanent deposits (FD) at the Bank of Baroda in June 1998 for 20 years thinking that money will help him during retirement.
But in 2018 and 2019 when the second FD was for ripe Pravinchandra Shah, who lived in Makarpura, was surprised to learn that the bank had no record.
Shah chased a problem with the bank since 2018, but the money was never paid to him.
However, the Consumer Court came to the recent rescue.
The court ordered the bank to pay the maturity amount of Rs 65,342 along with interest and compensation of Rs 2,000.
Because Shah did not get a positive response from the bank, he had filed a complaint in the consumer forum in November 2019.
He told the court that the bank did not have a note about his FD.
When he approached a senior bank official, he was told that because the bank system had changed, the FDS account number had changed and he was sure of payment.
But Shah never gets money and instead of knowing that the bank has reduced taxes on sources even when it has filled out a form of 15 hours and 15g and the interest rate decreases without telling her.
Banks were sent notifications to appear before the forum and respond to Shah’s complaint, but the bank representatives were never present.
Because Shah has submitted all documentary evidence and they are not opposed by the bank, the court enforces evidence.
The court ordered a bank to pay the promised amount of Rs 65,342 to Shah within two months.
