Bengaluru: An City Consumer Court ordered a nationalized bank, which forced Bengalurean to 70 years to pay more than Rs 1 lakh after the thief stole his credit card in Paris and swiped around 1,300 euros, to repay the citizen with an interest in interest.
The bank is then notified to provide RS 15,000 as compensation for problems caused by it.
Despite filing complaints within three days of theft, the bank failed to block the card.

On December 30, 2019, when he drove a metro train in Paris, his wallet with 700 euros, three credit cards and a copy of the SIM was developed by criminals.
The criminals spend 1,300 euros (equivalent to more than Rs 1 lakh) on one of the cards.
Meanwhile, Bengalurean Senior rushed to Paris City Police, Préfecture de police, and filed a formal complaint within hours after the incident.
He also sent an email to the bank, asked him to immediately block the card.
The Septuagenarian landed in Bengaluru in two days and filed a written complaint with a bank again on January 2, 2020.
He also complained to Bengaluru City Police the following day.
But the bank, where he holds a savings account, harasses it constantly to pay the amount swiped by fraudsters in France.
Apart from his complaint that the bank failed to block the card on time, Basutkar paid off the money.
However, on January 29, 2020, he approached Bangalore Rural and Urban Apribies Regency mentioning the recovery forum in Shantinagar with complaints against the Bank’s credit card division for unfair trade service and trade practices.
Basutkar presented his case through his lawyer, while bank lawyers called wrong complaints and efforts to make incorrect profits.
The lawyer also stated that the problem did not fall under the scope of the Bengaluru Consumer Court when the incident occurred in France and the Paris police officer investigated this case.
The consumer forum judges, however, noted that Basutkar had acted in the right way by submitting a formal complaint with the French police and obtaining FIR to register and notify the bank via email immediately after blocking the card.
He then reached Bengaluru and filed a written complaint and approached the police here too, all in three working days.
According to the RBI guideline, which must be followed by the Bank, if a fraudulent transaction from a bank card, the customer must remind the bank within three working days and the bank must investigate and return the lost amount to customers within 10 working days because the error lies in the system And not a bank or customer, which warns of time.
