PANAJI: Together with the SSC board examinations cancelled in light of this Covid-19 pandemic, the state authorities must immediately repay the exam fees collected from the students, stated Goa Forward Party (GFP) on Friday.
GFP vice-president Durgadas Kamat also stated that the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education must promptly convene a meeting to officially approve the authorities demand for the SSC examinations to be cancelled.
“Every pupil is billed Rs 1,500 for examinations and that comes to about Rs 5 crore.
Our celebration needs this money be reimbursed to every student promptly,” explained Kamat.
The state authorities, stated Kamat, may use the Rs 5 crore for additional cost and also to bridge the earnings shortfall.
He remarked that the authorities had on a previous event simplifying the corpus of Rs 19 crore gathered by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
On May 23, main minister Pramod Sawant declared that SSC board examinations will be cancelled due to the next wave of the outbreak.
Sawant also stated that a determination about the HSSC examinations would be obtained after.
While encouraging the movement, GFP did state that the statement must have come in the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Instruction rather than from the ministry.
Kamat stated that Sawant was attempting to supersede autonomous houses as well as other ministers.
