Bhubaneswar: The state government on Tuesday, certain provisions in the design of the Indian port Bill-2021 proposed by the center captured that new laws can withdraw the power that has been determined by countries in the management of non-main ports.
Minister of Trade and Transportation Padmanabha Behera wrote a letter in this regard with the Union Port, Shipping and Water Channel (PSW) Mansukh Mandaviya.

Previously, Chairman of the Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin had written to nine major ministers including Odisha to oppose port bills and to take common actions.

Stated that there was no provision in the draft bill to include the state maritime board, Behera demanded the provisions that must be made for the same.

While Parupip Port is the main port, Odisha has two non-main ports in Dhamra and Gopalpur.
