Gurgaon: Traders, including those in the mall, have objected to the recent notifications issued by the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) to register the LED screen board or signify the name outside their store by depositing a one-time fee of Rs 10,000.
The notification stated that traders must request permission and register with MCG to continue the LED display outside their store.
Reacting to this, traders say that the market and mall have faced a low picture because of Spurt in Covid cases, and MCGs now add to their stress by picking up accusations “cannot be justified”.
However, according to MCG, the official will be collecting registration fees for shops outside the shops after Haryana Municipal Corporation Advertisement by-Laws, 2018.
The traders, officials said, should not have a problem making a one-time deposit.
Attaders stressed that many people and malls appeared a lot before MCG existed.
“A LED signage outside the store is a business identity.
MCG now suddenly serves us notices and told us to pay the registration fee for these signs.
Already, we looked at the loss.
The selection in our shops back down due to the case increase Covid.
We now have to delete signage or pay the registration fee within three days.
It is unfair for a trader, who has been under great pressure because Covid, “Sharad Goyal said, a trader based at City Center Mall.
Other traders Krishhan Kumar said, “For shops in the mall, it is an additional financial burden because they pay a fairly maintenance fee to the mall.
I failed to understand that when we had paid to the mall, why was MCG pressing us to pay an additional amount? “However, the MCG has defended its decision.” If the Display Board dimensions or signage led by traders outside the store exceed 2% of the Façade outside the store, traders must take permission from the MCG and pay the registration fee of Rs 10,000.
This is the one-time registration fee, which is valid for six years, in accordance with the provisions of the Ad Regulation, “said Madhusmita Moitra, Planner Chief Town McG.
