New Delhi: The Ministry of Labor and Employment Union will begin to register unorganized sector workers, including migrants, on the national database for unorganized workers – eshram – from Thursday, Portal Day will live.
To start, the Ministry of Manpower has set a registration target of 3.5 unorganized workers for Bihar, 1.5 Crore for Andhra Pradesh and 1.8 crore workers for Gujarat.
The target, which according to the government in a presentation made for the leaders of the Central Trade Union on Tuesday must be fulfilled on December 31 this year.
Assam, Chhattisgarh and Delhi were also asked to complete 1 crore registration, 82 lakh and 52 lakh, each in this time frame.
Portal, Labor Secretary of Apurva Chandra said, aimed at 38 non-organized sector workers who included construction workers, migrants, street vendors, domestic workers, agricultural sector workers, and, for the first time in any country, platforms and workers.
Officials of the Ministry of Manpower said workers can register in eshram with their Aadhaar numbers and the bank account details.
