Patna: A man was arrested and sent to prison on Tuesday because he refused to return Rs 5.5 lakh mistakenly credited by Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank to his account at the same bank in Khagaria Bihar district in March last year, reported Ramachankar.
Ranjeet Das 30-year-old Bakhtyar Village refused to restore the total number even though there were several notifications issued by the local bank branch because he said the money was sent by PM Narendra Modi.
A bank officer, in anonymous condition, said the watershed had returned part of the amount under pressure from a senior bank official, but then refused to return the rest of Rs 1,60,970.
Das tells the bank officials that he has spent the money.
On August 17, the Branch Manager of Satya Narayan Prasad nested against the watershed.
“I think the money has been sent by PM Narendra Modi as the first installment of the total RS15 Lakh he promised to each individual during the poll campaign in Bihar,” Das, tutor by the profession, reportedly to the officers who investigated.
Sho Deepak Kumar said the watershed was ordered below Section 406 (criminal violations of trust) IPC.
He said damn in the bank section would also be checked.
