Haveri: Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha and Hasiran District Unit Senen has demanded that the government restart the ‘Yashaswini’ health insurance scheme for farmers.
The Office-Bearers and farmers’ associations submitted a memorandum to the minister’s chairman through the Deputy Commissioner of Haveri additional on Monday and said more than 60 families of Lakh had adopted agriculture and 1.5 crore people depend on this sector.
Nearly 99% of farmers do not have economic stability and they cannot get care at private hospitals while they fall ill.
The Yashaswini health scheme was previously very helpful for farmers.
Former Minister of Chief BS Yediyurappa has also convinced to restart the scheme, they said.
“Meanwhile, Chairman of the Minister of Basavaraj Bommai and Cooperation Minister St Somashekhar have assured to launch a scheme, it has not become a reality.
Please even if the scheme is as soon as possible for the welfare of farmers,” he insisted.
