NEW DELHI: The brand new pair of Covid-19 containment rules set up from the Tokyo Games Organising Committee (OC) to 11 participating countries, such as India, hasn’t only bothered the travelling strategies of Indian contingent coming in the Western funds but has also severely affected the practice programme of athletes prior to their contest begins in the Games.
Following the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) named the OC’s choice to segregate athletes, coaches and support team of India along with 10 other states for 3 days after checking to the Games Village as”unjust and discriminatory”, it hunted on Monday additional clarification by the organisers about if the newest entrance requirements imposed by Japan influence the Indian athletes traveling straight to Tokyo by their various overseas training places.
IOA has also asked the OC to offer comfort in the principle at which athletes traveling from India have to take a Covid negative RT-PCR evaluation report 48 hours before their arrival from Tokyo, aside from extending the span of everyday Covid-19 testing in the prescribed one week to fourteen days before death.
“We have lots of Indian athletes that are training overseas for at least 30 times and are travelling straight from their coaching places to Tokyo.
Can you confirm these particular athletes won’t be asked to adhere to these extra entry requirements?” Composed IOA president Narinder Dhruv Batra in his correspondence to the OC’s manager of NOC Relations and Services Team, Toru Kobayashi.
