Hyderabad: Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao urged the Nirmala Union Finance Minister Sitharaman to release a delayed grant around RS 3,000 Crore to the state government.
In a letter to Sitharaman on Monday, Minister Telangana said the center had not released a reverse regional development fund for 2019-20 and the year that came around Rs 900 Crore.
He said the 14th financial commission grant for the local body amounted to RS 817 Crore (RS 315 Crore for rural and RS 502 Crore for urban local agencies).

“Grants recommended by the Financial Commission have never been rejected in the past.
Even the center share in a centrally sponsored scheme is being implemented in Telangana, the establishment of the first year of the 2014-15 state is not released,” he said.
“In accordance with his practice, the entire center was released to the AP with supervision, even though it was divided into the population ratio between the AP and Telangana.
The Telangana section was released to the AP amounted to RS 495 Crore.
