The launch of the next low-cost Jio cellphone made by Reliance Jio and Google to provide a smartphone experience to disadvantaged Indian parts, has been postponed.
The next Jiophone is set for available starting September 10 but due to global semiconductor deficiency, the launch has been postponed.
Jio said in a statement that the next Jio phone can now be launched during Diwali this year.
“Both companies (Google and Jio) began testing the next Jio phone with a series of limited users for further refinement and actively works to make it available more in time for the celebration season At present, “Jio said in a statement.
The shortcomings of global chips have caused many disruptions to the supply chain of cars, PCs, smartphones, and other segments.
Reliance Jio hasn’t revealed a lot about the device.
Also, there is no official information about the price of the telephone.
However, media reports claim that the next Jio phone can cost the RS 3,500 in India.
This will be a sub-50 smartphone and estimated Rs 3,499.
After saying that, Reliance Jio can also see further giving device incentives through operator offers and financing options.
The next Jiophone is likely to be powered by a low-end chipset from the Qualcomm– QM215 platform.
It has a 64-bit CPU and Dual ISP support.
The next Jiophone will come with a single lens camera in the back with a 13MP sensor along with an 8MP camera on the front for selfies.
The default camera application will be Google Camera Go.
