Relief for Mamata as an EC announces Bypolls Bengal

New Delhi: The Saturday election commission announced holding Bypolls on September 30 in one assembly of Odisha constituency and three West Bengal, including the Bhabanipur seat where the minister and leader of the Trinamool Congress Mamata Banerjee intended to compete.
The results will be stated on 3.
October.
Announcement will come as aid to Mamata Banerjee who lost assembly elections from Nandigram.
This will allow Mamata the opportunity to become a member of the State Legislature Assembly.
He needs to win this Bypoll and selected to continue as cm.
Mamata has moved from its traditional Bhabanipur chair to fight in Nandigram during the assembly poll earlier this year but lost to his former Sugendhu Adhikari’s briefs who were contested on BJP tickets.
Adhikari is now an opposition leader in the Western Bengal Assembly.
The Election Commission said in a statement that it has decided to hold an election by the assembly election of Bhabanipur from West Bengal.
Bypolls will also be held in Samserganj and Jangirpur West Bengal and Pipli in Odisha on September 30.
Calculating will be held on October 3 of the public interest and to avoid the emptiness in the state, bye-elections for Bhabanipur, from which cm Mamata Banerjee intends to oppose the election, can be done.
“While the Commission has decided not to hold a general election in 31 other assembly constituencies and three parliamentary constituencies (throughout India), given the exclitution and special demand from the West Bengal state, he has decided to hold a bye selection on 159- Bhabanipur AC, “He said.
