Reluctant to attend class, Beleagavi Teen ends life

Beleagavi: The 13-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging at his home in Kasai Galli near the middle bus stand here on Tuesday.
His parents left when he hung himself from cell fans.
Grade 6 students are far from school because of a pandemic.
Even after the class began, he was reluctant to go to school.
In addition to repeatedly told his parents that he was not interested in school, he failed in several tests conducted at Morarji Desai school.
After his parents rebuked him to go to school on Tuesday morning, he left.
But when his parents also left home, he returned and hung himself using Sari.
His father was a color.
During the investigation, his parents told the police that the boy was upset of his poor appearance in the exam held at Morarji Desai school.
For the same reason, he doesn’t want to go to school.
“Worried about the education of our son, we have asked him to go to school, but it didn’t work.
Today we insisted that he attended the class.
But he hung himself,” he told the police.
The further probe also revealed that parents threatened him to shift to a hostel if he did not study well for the exam.
“We will continue the probe to set another reason to commit suicide,” said a police officer.
The case has been registered at the market police station.
The police have restored the body and sent it for autopsy.
