THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala meeting on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution calling the Centre to remember Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel and take immediate measures to safeguard the life and livelihood of the islanders.
Kerala is the first state in the nation to pass a resolution supporting the islanders’ protest against decisions taken by the new government.
The resolution, moved by CM Pinarayi Vijayan, had been passed with minor adjustments indicated by the opposition.
It said efforts were being forced”to inflict a saffron schedule and company interests” around the people of Lakshadweep.
“It started by painting trees using saffron color and it’s grown to ruining their habitat, lifestyle,” the resolution added.

“Efforts have been made to destroy the public’s livelihood of angling, along with sheds keeping the fishermen’s boats and nets being hammered, to remove their basic meals of beef and also to shut down legumes.

The forces of the district panchayat and also the village dweep panchayat were moved to the secretary.
The branches of fisheries, health, education, animal husbandry and agriculture are also being eliminated from the district panchayat, it stated.
“A lawyer that doesn’t have the ability to immediately intervene in such sections has been enabled to do so with an arrangement.
